How to Configure & Manage Your Intel vPro Platform with SyAM Software |

1. You must first configure the Management Engine on your Intel vPro enabled platform. Detailed instructions are located on the second page of the AMT Quick Start Guide.
2. Deploy System Client software across all servers, desktops and notebooks. (Use the SyAM deployment utility to deploy to many systems across the network). Designate and install the System Area Manager software onto a server or desktop that is not AMT enabled.
This system must have a static ip address on your network since the System Clients report up to it.
3. Add System Clients to the System Area Manager by IP address.
4. To configure the vPro enabled systems, select their remote management icon from the managed systems list.
5. On the Remote Management page, click on the AMT tab.
6. On the AMT Configuration page enter the AMT hostname/IP Address, Username and Password of the AMT system which was entered in the BIOS when configured.
Click on Apply to save changes.
*If using Intel AMT in a DHCP mode, don't edit the hostname/ip address section.
You are now able to perform amt out of band management functions such as AMT Remote Control -
Power Management
Serial Over LAN (SOL)
*You must choose Power On or Power Reset
IDE-Redirection
*You must choose two bootable devices for IDE-R
*These devices/images must exist on the system running System Area Manager.
AMT System Defense
*SyAM Management Policy allows Remote Console KVM access to the Quarantined vPro system
*SyAM Quarantine Policy is a complete network lockdown
Configuring your Intel® vPro™ technology Management Engine
You must configure the Management Engine on your Intel® vPro™ enabled platform before configuring the SyAM Software System Area Manager and System Client software.
Press F2 during boot up to enter BIOS Settings - Factory default password is admin
You must enter a new password - it must contain letters, numbers and symbols (example: vPro2007!)
Configure in Management Engine
- Password
- Manageability (AMT)
- Sleep State (Always /Enabled/M1)
Configure in AMT Engine
- TCP/IP Configuration (DHCP or Static)
- SOL / IDE-R Authentication (Username and Password)
- Provisioning (Small Business)
- Compatibility Mode (AMT 2)
