Affordable: At SyAM Software, we recognize that SMBs simply cannot afford systems management tools that have a hefty initial price tag and require expensive training and support. That’s why we’ve created a solution that works within the budget of SMBs. Desktop Monitor Local is free to download and use to manage one desktop at a time. While this product may not do everything you want it to do, it is a risk-free way for you to evaluate our software and see just how powerful it can make your administrators. To realize the full power of our products for managing desktops, users should upgrade to Desktop Monitor Central. Power Management: Desktop Monitor Local has no inherent Power Management capabilities. To realize energy savings by as much as 40% or more annually, users should consider upgrading to Desktop Monitor Central or Server Monitor Central. Monitoring & Alerting: Proactive monitoring, alerting, and resolution can add years of life to a system and increase the productivity of end-users tremendously. Desktop Monitor Local is always working in the background to ensure your desktops are operating within prescribed parameters. If things go wrong, our product will often alert you before catastrophic failures completely cripple the system. If you are only using the Local Management version of our products, you can expect to receive the types of alerts noted below. However, to realize the true power and performance of our software, it is best to upgrade to Central Management versions. Remote Resolution: One of the biggest drains on the productivity of administrators is making multiple trips to fix a problem: one trip to diagnose, one trip to install new hardware or software, and one follow-up trip to ensure everything is working properly. SyAM Software’s Desktop Monitor Local greatly impacts the productivity of administrators by reducing or eliminating the need for desk-side visits. Our products empower administrators to drill down to the root cause of problems, whether they are hardware or software based. For hardware-based issues, administrators can identify the cause of the problem and bring the correct components on the first visit, reducing desk-side service to one trip. Follow up monitoring can then occur remotely. Software issues can often be resolved remotely. Without having to leave their desks, administrators can literally “take over” a machine at the keyboard, video, mouse level and reconfigure systems properly. Asset Management: Asset management is an issue for nearly every organization. Technology systems need to be monitored for their physical whereabouts, their hardware configuration, and their software versions and approved applications. However, tracking down all of this information can be a real nightmare and drain on administrator’s productivity. Fortunately, Desktop Monitor Local virtually eliminates the need for manual asset tracking by gathering asset information dynamically and reporting it to the Central Management console. Administrators, however, will not be able to access reporting on all products unless they upgrade to Desktop Monitor Central. Vendor Neutrality: Desktop Monitor Local has been tested to support virtually any popular brand of hardware. For a complete list of supported systems, please see Desktop Compatibility. Intel AMTTM Support: Desktop Monitor Local has built in features that allow AMT information to report directly to the Central Management console. This feature enables desktops to be monitored and managed for both SyAM Software features and AMT features in one centrally managed console. Common Interface: Desktop Monitor Local provides a user interface that is common to all brands of hardware it manages. This eliminates the proprietary interfaces that OEMs sometimes ship with their products. One interface to learn to manage multiple systems saves a great deal of time. Best of all, the interface is web-based. This allows administrators to log-in from any machine with a web-browser, freeing them to work from home or on the road. Deployment Simplicity: One of the best features of Desktop Monitor Local is its speed of deployment, easy integration into the infrastructure, and ease of use once installed. This product can be made operational within minutes. Simply download the software, follow the simple installation instructions, and you’re done. Best of all, with a simple to use and understand interface, there is virtually no additional training required for administrators. Technical Features: System Level Alerting
